Frequently Asked Questions
When can I see you?
Tuesdays and Thursdays between 9-3pm CST and Wednesdays by appointment
Do you work with men and children as well?
Yes! I specialize in women’s health but will see men and teens as well. Message me if you are interested in me working with your child.
Do you take insurance?
I take insurance via Nourish. It is an amazing online telehealth company I work for. They are super easy to schedule appointments and will check your insurance coverage for you with a guarantee that you won’t pay anything out of pocket without an e-mail heads up. Most of my clients pay 0 out of pocket including no co-pay. They have fantastic resources and a great platform for video visits. They even pay for you to get labs 4x per year (zero cost to you!) I highly recommend them!

I also run a cash-pay only private practice. I am very high touch point with my cash pay clients- meaning we have a lot of frequent interaction. This can be a huge benefit to those wanting extra support and accountability.
What’s the difference between a Registered Dietitian and a Nutritionist?
A Registered Dietitian goes through years of schooling and training in nutrition, biochemistry, food science, counseling, etc and earns a graduate degree. They must complete an unpaid 1,000 hour internship in clinical dietetics, community nutrition, food service management, and an elective (I did a business rotation). After completing both the schooling and the internship, they are prepared to sit for the extremely intense and difficult RD exam. Once passed, candidates become Registered Dietitians and can keep that credential by taking 75 credits of continuing education every 5 years.
In contrast, a nutritionist can be certified by a 6 week online program. Or they can have a 6-pack, take to instagram with some before and after photos and call themselves a health coach or nutritionist. A nutritionist is not a regulated title. (This said, a Certified Nutrition Specialist CNS has similar training to a Registered Dietitian but cannot yet get credentialed with insurance.)
How does this work? Will I get a meal plan or do macros or something else?
It completely depends! Every person is different and I believe every plan should be customized to YOU! I will listen to you during our initial consultation together and by the end of our session, give you a plan that I think will help you move the needle the most towards your particular goal(s). I have meal plans that I use as a framework and I also like to do macros with people (particularly athletes or those that really like the numbers). Depending on your situation, you may need to eat for a condition (lowering A1C or improving cardiac markers for example) and we will come up with an eating pattern that you can have success with. Many providers feel like one way is superior to another, but I truly believe it is up to you, your goals, and what resonates with you. My ultimate goal is for you to have a healthy relationship with food and get to your nutrition related goals in a sustainable way.
Do you see eating disorders?
I primarily work with Binge Eating Disorder and ARFID. I can offer suggestions of other trained dietitians to see anorexia and bulimia.
Where do we meet?
We will meet 100% virtually. You will simply be able to join the appointment via your online portal from your computer or phone.
I’ve tried everything to lose weight and nothing has worked long-term. Why would it be any different working with you?
Because I don’t believe in diets at all. I know they don’t work in the long-term. I am not going to give you another diet. We are going to work together to see what you default to. What are your current habits? And then from there we will make tweaks and changes that you actually enjoy and can do long-term. As you start to change your habits, weight loss becomes a natural by-product. I would say the majority of my clients would say that losing weight was not painful and extremely rigid/restrictive. I can help you find sustainable, long-lasting results. And we will work together to improve your relationship with food along the way.
